It’s official! Liverpool unveil Klopp as new manager

Liverpool have named Jurgen Klopp as Brendan Rodgers’ replacement.

The Reds acted swiftly to secure the services of the former Borussia Dortmund manager, after Rodgers was fired last Sunday, hours after a 1-1 draw in the Merseyside derby.

Klopp arrived England on Thursday afternoon and has signed a deal worth £7 million-a-year.

“Liverpool Football Club are delighted to announce Jürgen Klopp has been appointed as the club’s new manager,” an official statement read.

“The German coach has signed a deal to take the helm at the Reds and will be presented at a press conference at Anfield on Friday morning.”

Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz are expected to be confirmed as part of Klopp’s backroom team.

His first game in charge will be next Saturday, away to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
