As the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, prepares for his inauguration on the 29th of May, more Nigerians have continued to present him their shopping list, with the General Evangelist, Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, Prophet Samuel Abiara, calling on him to consider the introduction of state police as one of the agenda of his administration.
Abiara made the call on Sunday while fielding questions from journalists at the Christ Apostolic Church, Agbala Itura, Oke-Odo, Lagos, adding that the introduction of state police would reduce insecurity and tackle unemployment among youths.
He said: “Nigerians are confronted with insecurity and poor electricity supply. All these problems are parts of the issues that Buhari promised to tackle during his campaign, but it will be good if he adds the introduction of state police to his agenda.
“If each of the 36 states of the federation could recruit a minimum of 5,000 youths as the state police personnel, I am convinced that the development would take many jobless youths off the street.”
Abiara, who commended Nigerians for their peaceful conduct during the 2015 general elections, also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat.
He called on the President-elect to fear God in his dealings with the people and asked all the winners at the elections to be humble in victory and fulfil the promises they made to the electorate.
