Atletico Madrid on Thursday afternoon defeated Arsenal 3-1 on penalties in the International Champions Cup played at the Singapore National Stadium.
Luciano Vietto opened scoring for the Spanish giants in the 41 minute before Emile Rowe levelled for Unai Emery’s side in 47 minutes as the game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.
However, the game eventually ended 3-1 on penalties as Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all missed their spot kick for the North London club.
The win means Atletico now occupies the 7th position on the log with 3 points from one game, while the Gunners occupies the 9th position with no point from one game.
Arsenal will now play PSG on Saturday in their next match.
