The Belgium national team will be without three of their English Premier League stars, Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini, Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet and Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke for their upcoming international games against Scotland and Iceland due to injuries.
The Belgian Football Association (RBFA) took to their official Twitter page, @BelRedDevils, to announce the players’ withdrawal from the game.
Mignolet was called up to Roberto Martinez’s squad but was pulled out subsequently with an unspecified injury, while Fellaini will return to England after picking up a knock and Benteke also has pulled out.
Belgium face Scotland in a friendly at Glasgow’s Hampden Park on Friday before travelling to Iceland to take part in their first-ever Nations League match at Laugardalsvollur Stadium in Reykjavik next Tuesday.
