Insecurity: Nigeria gradually heading for war – Ex-PDP Spokesman, Muhammad warns

Alamin Sani Muhammad, former Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, North-East has warned that Nigeria may be heading for war if the insecurity challenge currently facing the country is not curtailed.

Muhammad handed this warning in an interview with DAILY POST in Bauchi on Saturday.

According to him, the ongoing killings, especially in North Centra states of Benue, Plateau and Kaduna where several people were have been killed; were strong indications that the country may soon slide into another war.

The PDP chieftain also lamented the recent ambush on people in Maiduguri, Borno State by the dreaded Boko Haram, describing the claim by the federal government that it had neutralised the insurgents as ‘blatant white lies.’

“What we are passing through currently justifies that Nigeria as a country is gradually drifting into war with the perpetual security challenges affecting the nation, yet the federal government appears to remain adamant with no commitment to end the killings,” Muhammed fumed.

Mohammad further noted that other issue that may result into war is the recurrent clashes between Shi’ites Islamic movement and security agencies, which FG should have addressed squarely.

“There is need for the federal government to kindly address the continued detention of Sheik El- Zakzaky, leader of the Shi’ites movement in line with court orders as mark of justice and fairness,” added Muhammad.
