The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that newly-registered voters will receive their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) early in May.
This was confirmed by INEC National Commissioner in charge of Ondo, Ogun and Lagos States, Adekunle Ogunmola.
He was speaking on the sidelines of South-West Zonal Workshop on Women Participation in Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and Collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Lagos.
Ogunmola told NAN that INEC was determined to register all eligible voters before the 2019 general elections, to enable them perform their civic responsibility.
“We have announced that from the second week of May, the new registrants will be collecting their PVCs.
“In fact, most of the new PVCs have been sent to the states; we hope that by the second week of May, we will start the distribution,” he said.
