The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Oyo State, has recalled the electoral officer for Itesiwaju Local Government Area of the state, Mr Vincent Adelodun over absenteeism.

The commission made this known in a statement issued in Ibadan by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barrister Mutiu Agboke, a copy of which was obtained by DAILY POST on Thursday.

Agboke in the statement said the electoral officer was in the habit of absenting himself from office without permission, thereby jeopardizing the ongoing continuous voters’ registration in the local government.

He then directed the assistant electoral officer in charge of electoral operations in the local government, Mr Sunday Adenekan to act as the electoral officer pending the appointment of a substantive officer.

He equally warned all members of staff of the commission in Oyo State of similar or even worse punishments, if they failed to accord their duties with the required commitment and dedication.
