The nation’s electoral body, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has distributed sensitive materials to be used in Saturday’s governorship election in Kogi State.
It was learnt that the materials were distributed to various parts of the state amid tight security and representatives of the Peoples Democratic Party, All Progressives Congress and other parties contesting the election.
Supervising the distribution of the materials, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Halilu Pai, said the materials included ballot papers and result sheets.
According to Pai, the materials would be taken to the INEC offices in the 21 local government areas from where they would later be distributed among the 239 wards in the state
Pai who expressed INEC commitment towards conducting a free, fair, credible and acceptable election, urged political parties, security agents and other stakeholders to carry out their roles in line with laid down rules.
