An Indian national, Aja Bikram on Wednesday told Justice Aishat Opesanwo of the Lagos State High, Court sitting in Igbosere how his house-help led a gang of armed robbers to attack his family.
Bikram, who works with Euro Global Food Distillage Limited in Lekki, Lagos State told the court that his house-help, Peter Maina led a gang of hoodlums to rob him, his wife and 15-year-old daughter items worth N3.2 million with knives.
The Indian national while recounting his experience said the incident occurred on November 10, 2013 by 9: 50am, at his residence in Lekki area of Lagos state.
While testifying, Bikram said “On that fateful day, Peter our housekeeper of eight months, who lived with my family rang our door bell, my wife opened the door for him after she looked through the security viewer of our home.
“He was followed into the house immediately the door was opened by three accomplices who forced their way into our house.
“I, my wife and 15-year-old daughter were shocked to see the strangers in our house. One of his accomplices pulled out a jack knife and held it to my throat.”
The foreigner further stressed that his housekeeper armed the robbers with knives from their kitchen during the operation.
“Peter ran to the kitchen to take our household knives to arm his accomplices during the ordeal.
“They ordered us with knives on our throats to remove our jewellery and wrist watches and we were also ordered into the bedroom where my wife was forced to bring out all the cash in the house.
“I and my wife were later tied up with ropes while my daughter was tied up with the dog leashes used for our two puppies.
“My mouth was also gagged with a red handkerchief and I was locked in the bathroom while my wife and daughter were left in the bedroom,” he noted.
Bikram claimed he overheard the hoodlums plotting to kill him and kidnap his daughter for a ransom.”
