As a result of the fallout of the disputed governorship primaries of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Imo State, indications have emerged on Thursday, that three aggrieved gubernatorial aspirants of the party had perfected plans to dump APGA for the Social Democratic Party, SDP, any moment from now.
The three aggrieved aspirants had accused the leadership of APGA of abysmal betrayal and selling of party’s ticket to the highest bidder at the just concluded governorship primary election in the state.
Some of the aspirants that participated in the recently held APGA governorship primary election in Imo state, included, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, Uche Onyeagucha, Frank Nneji, Sam Amadi, and Mr. Nick Opara-Ndudu,
Confirming their planned defection, the SDP Publicity Secretary in Imo state, Mr. Chilos Godsent informed DAILY POST in a phone interview on Thursday, that the aggrieved APGA chieftains had met the state leadership of his party, SDP, in a bid to move over to SDP with over fifteen thousand of their supporters across the state.
“I can confirm to you that three aggrieved aspirants in the just concluded APGA governorship primaries in Imo state, are set to join SDP any moment from now.
“We met in a closed-door meeting that lasted about 2 hours. They met us, the hierarchy of our great party, SDP, for their formal movement to SDP with thousands of their supporters across the length and breadth of the state”.
“Their meeting with leaders of the party was successful. So, I can assure you that come 2019, SDP will take over Imo government house ”.
