Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has approved the dissolution of Transition Committees in the 17 Local Government Areas of Abia State.
The Transition Committee Chairmen were directed to hand over to the Head of Service of their Local Government areas.
A statement by the Governor’s aide, Obed Asiegbu, called on Abia State Independent Electoral Commission to submit requirements for Local Government elections for consideration and approval by the State Executive Council.
Meantime, Governor Ikpeazu has forwarded to the Abia State House of Assembly, a list of nine TC Chairmen and their Deputies.
They are Ohafia: Sampson Anagha – Chairman , Kalu Ogbu Arunsi – Deputy; Arochukwu: Ama Abraham – Chairman, Kingsley Ngunu – Deputy; Isuikwuato: Rt. Navy Capt. Osondu – Chairman, Christiana Emenike -Deputy; Aba North: Mrs Gladys Nwaubani – Chairman, Chinyere Chijioke – Deputy; Osisioma: Ugochukwu Allen Nwachukwu – Chairman, Joseph Chisom Nweke – Deputy.
Others are Umuahia South: Randy Ukanwoke – Chairman, Jenkins Omereonye – Deputy; Ikwuano Jerry Awa – Chairman, Williams Ukata – Deputy; Umunneochi: Christian Uto – Chairman, Mrs Ijeoma Okorie – Deputy and Bende: Pastor Okechukwu Dike – Chairman, Engineer Owen – Deputy.
In anothet development, Governor Ikpeazu, has approved the appointment of Dr. Philip Nto as the Provost of the College Education Technical, Arochukwu with immediate effect.
He has also directed the commencement of repair works on the road and bridge leading to Ugwueke in Bende Local Government.
