Technical Adviser of Ikorodu United, Theo de Jong, has promised that the club will be back to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL),

The Oga Boys made return to the Nigeria National League (NNL), after just one season in the top flight.

Ikorodu United failed to retain their NPFL status, despite recent wins against Enyimba, Heartland and Kano Pillars. However, last weekend they were defeated by champions-elect, Enugu Rangers.

But De Jong is convinced that they are good enough to make a quick return.

“Yeah, the team have improved a lot since I came in, but unfortunately, it was quite too late for us as we cannot escape relegation,” he told CompleteSports.

“I believe we will be stronger next season and do well in the National League. The players have adapted so well to my coaching philosophy which is very crucial.

“If they continue this way, I believe we will be back in the NPFL very soon.”
