Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho, has admitted it would be “a dream”, to play against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
The Nigerian starlet scored twice for Manuel Pellegrini’s team, as they hammered Stoke City 4-0 on Saturday and may be on the bench for the visit of the Spanish giants on Tuesday.
“I do dream about that because they are such a great team,” he said.
“It would be a dream come true to play against them.
“Ronaldo and Messi are the greatest players on the planet so I think playing against one of them is a big thing for anyone so it would be a big thing to me if I play on Tuesday.
“I really need to work hard in every game and in every training session. Every time I’m in, I really need to show character and show that I deserve to be in the team.”
Iheanacho, who has scored 11 goals from 15 shots on target in his debut campaign, says City must win the first leg to stand a chance.
“We really need to win here because at their home, it’s not going to be an easy game,” he said.
“So we need to show character and work hard and make sure we get the win.
“It’s a great achievement for the club and for everybody, being in the last four of the tournament.
“We really need to go forward and get to the final. It would be a dream when we get to the final so we’re really hoping for that.”
