IGP, Oyetola, Abiodun, Sanwo-Olu, Ooni, others storm Ibadan over insecurity in South West [PHOTOS]

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammad Adamu and the six Governors from the South West region, traditional rulers and other stakeholders in the region are currently meeting in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital over the insecurity in the region.

DAILY POST reports that the meeting which was convened by the IGP, Mr. Adamu has in attendance; Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun, Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Naimot Salako-Oyedele, Deputy Governor of Lagos state, Mr. Obafemi Hamzat, Deputy Governor of Ondo, Agboola Ajayi and Deputy for Ekiti State.

Others at the event tagged, “South West Geopolitical Zone Security Summit,” currently taking place at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan included the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Aree Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, Otunba Gani Adams, Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Mr. Rauf Olaniyan, service chiefs among others.

Also at the meeting are the Otun Olubadan, High Chief Lekan Balogun; Balogun of Ibadan land, High Chief Owolabi Olakulehin; Asipa Olubadan, High Chief Eddy Oyewole; Asipa Balogun, High Chief Lateef Adebimpe; Ekarun Olubadan of Ibadan land, High Chief Amidu Ajibade and Ekarun Balogun, High Chief Kola Adegbola.

Our correspondent gathered that the meeting was called by the IGP in search of a lasting solution to the security challenges facing the South-West states.

It was learnt that the meeting was convened by the IGP to unveil his security agenda for the South-West states and to discuss issues and strategies to be adopted in addressing the security challenges in the geopolitical zone.

Makinde in his welcome address told the gathering that his administration was committed to security of the state and its people.

Makinde while speaking further added that part of his efforts in strengthening the security in the state is they donation if about one hundred operational vehicles to security agencies in the state.

He also hailed the new rapport between the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji and his high chiefs.
