Ighalo out, Success in as Rohr names 23 players for 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia


Odion Ighalo is one of the notable absentees, as Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, named a 23-man squad for

The Watford striker has been excused to attend his father’s burial in Nigeria on October 8, which is a day before the game at the Levy Nwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

His club team-mate Isaac Success, has however, been called up.

Rohr has also invited injured KAA Gent striker, Moses Simon, who assured the German that he will be fully recovered for the match.

Alanyaspor of Turkey defender Kenneth Omeruo, Belgium–based midfielder Anderson Esiti and Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi are also included.

All invited players are expected to start arriving in Abuja as from Sunday, October 2.
