Ighalo eyes return to Premier League

Odion Ighalo has admitted he would “love” to return to the Premier League in the future, after his spell in China.

The Nigerian striker only completed a £20 million move from Watford to Changchun Yatai last week.

“I am looking forward to the challenge of playing in China,” Ighalo told ESPN FC.

“I know life goes on and I must do what is best for me. My agent, Ladi [Salami], worked hard of sorting my future out and I happy with the deal.

“Of course, if it is possible to come back to the Premier League one day, I would love to do that. It is a great league with so many great teams and the fans are brilliant, so you never know what might happen in the future.”

Ighalo signed for Watford permanently in 2014, after an initial loan spell and scored 39 goals in 100 appearances.

“I have a lot of happy memories from time at Watford, helping them win promotion to the Premier League, scoring goals in the Premier League breaking a lot of records, so they are great memories for me,” he said.

“The fans were great to me and I would like to thank them for their support, and I will miss Watford.”
