The Enugu State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged Igbos to join the party because they stand to gain more from the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration than that of ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan.
In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Mrs Kate Offor, the state chapter of the party urged Igbo people to join the party enmass to realise their great socio-political potential.
According to Ofor, the mass exodus of politicians from other parties to APC shows that the ruling party was people-oriented and corrupt-free.
She said, “It is better for Ndigbo to play in the big league.
“The current surge to join APC by our people is also a vindication of our true position that in the fullness of time, Ndigbo stands to gain more from President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration than they did in the past administrations.’’
“For us, the exodus of the Igbo’s from other political parties into APC is a testimony and realisation that it is bad politics to put all our eggs in one basket, so no one ethnic group can benefit in isolation.
“We welcome everybody, especially those who will contribute to the actualisation of more united, prosperous and progressive Nigeria.’’
