Apex Igbo social-cultural group, Ohaneze Ndigbo, has said the Igbos are searching for credible and dependable leaders that would selflessly represent them at the national level.
This revelation was made by the National Vice President of the body, Chief Celestine Okeke, when he led top officials of the organisation in Abia to confer the award of grand patron of Ohaneze Ndigbo, on an Abuja-based businessman, Chief Charles Nzechi, in Umuahia yesterday.
Okeke lamented that the present crop of politicians of Igbo extraction have failed to give a good account of themselves in terms of their service to the people.
“We still can go out to fish out somebody, who can be useful to the cause and interest of the Igboman in national politics,” he said.
