Igbo Senators meet with Buhari over IPOB, lopsided appointments

Senators from the South-East, on Wednesday met with President Muhammadu Buhari over issues ranging from lopsided appointments to that of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

The South-East caucus, led by the Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu and the caucus Chairman, Eyinnaya Abaribe met with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Speaking with State House Correspondents after the meeting, the Deputy President of the Senate said the caucus presented to Buhari challenges facing the zone.

According to Ekweremadu, the President promised the delegation that he will look into the issues raised.

Ekweremadu said, “For us from the South East, we believe that dialogue is better than any other form of engagement.

“So, we decided to visit the President and present to him some of the concerns of the South East including the issues of roads and general infrastructure.

“We also discussed the issue of security with him and of course the issue of IPOB. We had a good conversation and he promised to look into the issues.”
