Igbo leader accuse Jonathan of inciting defection of Anambra lawmakers from APGA to PDP

Worried at the recent defection of five Anambra State lawmakers to the people’s Democratic Party, an Igbo leader and member of APGA Board of Trustees, Chief Romeo Ezeonwuka (Ogirishigbo) has urged President Jonathan to stop playing politics with the destiny of the people of the state by sponsoring the defection of some APGA political leaders to PDP.

Chief Ezeonwuka, who spoke to the press at his Rojenny Tourist Village, Oba, Idemili South Local Government of Anambra State said that the defection of the lawmakers was a great betrayal to Igbo identity for which APGA is known for.

He urged President Jonathan and the PDP to stop sponsoring defection of political office holders to their fold.

He argued that though APGA had suffered unsuspected loss, their defection had been accepted by the party, stressing that it was, however, a blessing in disguise.

Chief Ezeonwuka emphasised that the crop of the decampee lawmakers were not popular in their constituencies and posed no threat to the party in future elections.

He stated that their decision to quit must have been taken because of their utter conviction that they had not attracted any meaningful project to their various constituencies and stood no chance of flying the party’s flag in future elections.

He disclosed of the preparedness of APGA to repeat the Osun magic in Anambra State, and warned that Igbo man’s support for Jonathan should not be taken for granted.
