IG of Police leads Christmas patrol in Abuja; thanks Nigerians, security agencies

Nigerian Police boss, Suleiman Abba, has expressed satisfaction over the security situation across the country as Christian faithful celebrate Christmas.

Speaking to journalist in Abuja, the Inspector-General of Police thanked God for a hitch-free Christmas and the peace recorded nationwide.

He stated that himself and principal officers of the Nigerian Police have been involved in the patrol as a way of assuring Nigerians of the security of lives and property during the festive period.

At the Jabi Lake Park, the Inspector-General of Police who interacted with fun-seekers, assured them that security agencies would continue to keep watch throughout the yuletide period.

He, however, urged citizens to contribute their quota in the fight against terrorism.

Our correspondent who went round the town noticed heavy presence of security operatives at Zuba, Airport road, City Gate, Berger roundabout, Wuse market, Maitama flyover as well as the Three Arms zone.

DAILY POST observed that security was also intense at the popular Wonderland amusement park in the nation’s capital.

A bomb detecting vehicle was in place with combined Police and Department of State Security teams as kids along with their parents and guardian arrived the venue in droves.

Some Churches in Kubwa were barricaded, while those situated along busy roads were manned by security operatives who conducted stop and search of passing vehicles.
