As Nigerian Christians join their counterparts across the world to celebrate the Good Friday and Easter holidays, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba has advocated vigilance and urged Nigerians to avail the police with any useful information they may have on suspected crimes.
Abba, made this call yesterday in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, where he noted that the IGP heartily felicitates with the Christian faithful and urged them to adopt the full significance of the resurrection of Christ.
While enjoining Nigerians to respect the diversities of the nation, he solicited their cooperation during the April 11 governorship elections.
According to the statement, “The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba heartily felicitates with Christian faithful across the nation as they join other Christians in the world to celebrate the joyous and glorious moment of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“While urging Christians to learn and adopt the full significance of the resurrection of Christ and to open their hearts to issues of peace, forgiveness and harmonious co-existence, he enjoined all Nigerians to emulate the principles of the Easter season and to celebrate within the ambit of the law.
“The IGP enjoined Nigerians to respect the diversities of the nation. He also called on Nigerians for more cooperation with law enforcement and security agents as the country continues in the enthronement of democracy in the April 11th 2015 polls,” it stated.
Ojukwu further assured that the multifarious strategies adopted by the Police High Command on adequate security will guarantee a hitch-free Easter celebrations.
