Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi wins Enugu parallel PDP Guber election

The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Maritime, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has emerged winner of the PDP parallel governorship election conducted by the Peoples Democratic Party, in Enugu State.

The result showed that Ugwuanyi, popularly known as ‘Gburugburu’ polled 933 to defeat the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, who scored 26 votes.

In the spirit of sportsmanship, Ugwuanyi and Odo embraced each other as soon as the results were announced.

DAILY POST correspondent who monitored the exercise in Enugu reports that three other aspirants, Senator Ayogu Eze, Evang. Samuel Onyishi and Onyeke Onyeke had earlier condemned the alleged plan to disenfrachise authentic delegates.

Ayogu, who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on works, later participated in another primary election, where he won.

While that of Ugwuanyi took place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, the one that produced Ayogu was conducted at Filbon Hotels, Enugu.
