Oil tycoon and Founder of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) has denied backing All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate for Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Ubah made the denial in a text message to DAILY POST on Sunday.
He was reacting to reports that the was leading a group of influential Igbo natives to the palace of Lagos paramount ruler to declare support for the APC candidate.
His message reads: “This is to refute the news in circulation that I am leading Igbo people to the palace of Oba of Lagos to pledge support for the candidacy of Akinwunmi Ambode for Gov. of Lagos State.
“The story is not true and should be disregarded. It is the handiwork of mischief makers.
“I am presently (3pm) at Sheraton Hotel in Lagos with six elected PDP federal house of representatives members. We are in a meeting to discuss ways to move the party forward.”
Speculations are rife that many PDP chieftains and power brokers are systematically switching allegiance to the APC to avoid probe.
On Saturday, a website reported that Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke was spotted at the home of former Head of State, Abdusalami Abubakar.
It was alleged that she visited the for military president to negotiate a soft landing to forestall any humiliation with an APC government in sight.
