Ideye leaves West Brom for Olympiakos in permanent deal

Super Eagles striker, Brown Ideye, has joined Olympiakos for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old only moved to West Brom last year from Dynamo Kyiv, for a then club-record £10 million, but failed to settle in properly at the Hawthorns.

With the arrivals of Rickie Lambert from Liverpool and Salomon Rondon from Zenit, manager Tony Pulis made it clear that the Nigerian was surplus to requirements.

Ideye’s transfer to the current Greek champions was completed in time for him to be registered in their Champions League squad.

Olympiakos are in Group F with Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Dinamo Zagreb.
