Ideye begs Oliseh for Super Eagles recall

Brown Ideye has expressed his interest in returning to the Super Eagles fold.

The 27-year-old striker has found form again since joining Greek champions, Olympiakos and has scored three times in seven matches.

Ideye was in Nigeria’s squad to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, but was then overlooked by Stephen Keshi because of poor form.

He is now seeking a chance to prove his worth in the national team, under new coach, Sunday Oliseh.

“Of course I am hoping I will soon get another chance to translate my new form to the national team. I am optimistic that the Super Eagles will fully bounce back to winning ways under Sunday Oliseh,” Ideye said.

“He was a great player during his time and if his wealth of experience as a player should be reckoned, he has what it takes to also become a successful coach. He can win the African Cup of Nations again for Nigeria as well as qualify us for the World Cup final. I don’t see a team like Swaziland stopping us from going to the World Cup.

“I am happy he is the new coach and I am hoping that he would do a great job with the Super Eagles.” .
