Fresh reports have emerged indicting the Ibadan-based female lawyer, Yewande Oyediran over the murder of her husband in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The accused, who is a member of staff of the Ministry of Justice in the state, was alleged to have stabbed her 38-year-old husband, Oyelowo Oyediran, to death on February 2, over claims that he fathered a child out of wedlock.
Yewande has since been remanded at the Agodi, Prison in Oyo, pending the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution in the state, although, she had stated that she had no hand in the death of her husband.
In a new development, the owner of the house where she resided with her husband before the incident said the suspect stabbed her husband during an argument.
At an Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan on Tuesday, three witnesses were presented by the prosecution at the resumed hearing.
The couple’s landlord, Chief Akinpelu Adelodun, was one of the witnesses.
Speaking before Justice Muktar Abimbola, he said he was at the apartment of the couple when the argument became ugly and that he made an attempt to calm them down.
According to him, Yewande insisted that she would injure her husband, adding that the misunderstanding continued till around 3am and that at a point, Yewande became calm.
He said he was, however, surprised to hear a noise around 6a.m same day.
