Former Arsenal striker, Ian Wright, has claimed that manager Arsene Wenger was sacked by the club and did not resign as the official statement claimed.
Wenger announced on Friday, that he would be stepping down as the Gunners boss after this season.
However, in an interview with BBC, Wright insisted that Wenger is not the type of man to walk away.
“Arsene Wenger is a man of principle, honesty and integrity – that is why I am convinced he has been sacked and not resigned.
“For all the vitriol and abuse thrown at him, Arsene has never been a man to walk out before the end of a contract.
“It is a sad situation,” he said.
