Ian Wright blasts Arsenal for not selling Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City

Former Arsenal striker, Ian Wright, has criticized manager Arsene Wenger and the club, for keeping Alexis Sanchez in the final year of his contract.

According to the UK Guardian, the Gunners accepted City’s second bid of £55m plus £5m in add-ons on Thursday, but the deal could only be ratified if Arsene Wenger brought in a new attacking player.

Monaco’s Thomas Lemar was one of the replacements targeted, while the other was Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler.

Arsenal initially agreed to pay the £92m Monaco demanded for the 21-year-old, but there appears to be insufficient time for them to agree a package with Lemar, who is in the France squad for this evening’s game against Holland.

This means that Sanchez, who was clearly desperate to leave the Emirates, will now have to stay put for the last year of his contract.

“It’s bad business to let Sanchez walk out next year for free.Take the F*****g money! He don’t want to be there! We’re Arsenal so some pride,” Wright tweeted on Thursday.
