A National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, has declared that he will not abandon the party.

The former Lagos Governor has come under intense attack, following his call that the National Chairman of the party, John Oyegun resigns from his position  over alleged irregularities during the party’s primary election in Ondo State that produced the State governor-elect, Rotimi Akeredolu.

Following the attack, there has been insinuation in some quarters that the elder statesman may dump the APC.

Reports recently had it that he and former Vice President, Abubakar Atiku were planning to float another political party ahead of 2019.

But the elder statesman who took to his twitter handle @AsiwajuTinubu wrote: “This is a party I laboured with others to build. We would not abandon it for another. Millions of Nigerians who voted are watching and praying.

“APC, is for the people and the national purpose is bigger and more important than any individual desire.

“I have devoted my political life to achieve what has been achieved. My heart is too much of the people and my mind too fixed on establishing.

“Achievements will be had and replicated. Through it all, I, Asiwaju will remain true to the progressive ideals that fuelled the creation of APC.

“In our journey to national betterment, plans and policies will be made, then amended. Mistakes will occur and then corrected.”
