Theo Walcott has told Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, that he is ready to return to the right wing, after failing to nail down a spit in his preferred striker position.
Walcott has failed to impress when given the chance, with Wenger largely using Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck upfront last season.
The Frenchman is still looking to sign Lacazette from Lyon, to boost his attacking options, leaving Walcott with no choice but to seek a return to the wings.
“I want to make my position on the right – that’s where I know where I am now. I’ve told the manager that I want to be known for playing on the right again, although I can play up front,” Walcott, who has scored 85 goals in 334 appearances for Arsenal, said.
“I want to know where I want to play. The manager has said I can play up front. It depends on what game it is. I know I can do a job up front as well as on the right.”
