Governor-Elect of Rivers State, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that he will honour the social contract that he entered with the people of Rivers State during his campaign to lead the state to a prosperous future premised on good governance, transparency, accountability and the development of all parts of the state.
In a Thank You Message on his election as the state’s governor-elect, Barrister Wike stated that the massive support he got from across the state is a challenge for him to ensure that the people of the state step into better days and experience compassionate governance with the right political will to positively transform the state.
While noting that he will never take the goodwill of Rivers people for granted, the Governor-Elect urged the people to continue to support his administration and the PDP to resolve the developmental challenges facing the state.
He noted that the Rivers State PDP Campaign Organization interfaced with Rivers people in all communities with firm promises made to the communities to improve their living condition. He said that his administration working within the limits of available resources will work towards fulfilling the promises made.
Barrister Wike assured that his administration belongs to all the people resident in the state irrespective of political affiliations, adding that security of lives and property, administration of justice, separation of powers, quality education, quality healthcare, infrastructural development and provision of water.
He noted that the programmes contained in his development blueprint, the New Rivers Vision 2015 which has been endorsed by Rivers people through their massive votes on April 11, 2015 will be comprehensively implemented to make Rivers State the pride of all Nigerians.
He said: “Our promises are our bond. Now that the Rivers people have elected Dr. Mrs. Banigo and me, we shall work relentlessly towards achieving our vision and mission for a better Rivers State. We believe that together we can create better opportunities and achieve more for our people”.
