Taraba State Governor Danbaba Suntai on Tuesday said he will soon return to the country.

This was contained in a press release signed by the state Commissioner of Information, Mr. Emmanuel Bello.

The statement obtained by Dailypost was forwarded from Hannover, Germany, where Suntai has been receiving treatment since October last year.

He had sustained severe injuries after the plane he was piloting crashed.

Suntai’s latest assurance of his return was given after an interactive session with some top-level guests who visited him in the physiotherapy facility of the German hospital where he is currently been treated.

He was said to have commended the leadership of the state Assembly for being “resilient and patriotic.”

Those who visited the Governor in Germany on Tuesday include, Jalingo Council Chairman, Hassan Bappa, Bello, the Hakimi of Garba Chede, Alhaji Hashimu Kaigama and a Senior Assistant to the Governor, Mallam Aminu Babale, among others.

Dailypost gathered that, Suntai as at yesterday also spoke via telephone with prominent citizens of the state including, Speaker Istifanus Haruna Gbana, member representing Karim-Lamido I, Hon. Charles Maijankai, Commissioner for Education Mr. Yakubu Agbaizo and former NSA, General Aliyu Gusau.

“In all the conversations, Suntai was expressing gratitude for the concern shown him in this moment of trial”, the release added.

Bello flew to Germany on Sunday on the orders of Acting Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar.

The purpose of the visit, Umar said, was to inform Taraba people on the current state of health of the Governor.

Meanwhile, the Information Commission is to arrange a tele-conference between Suntai and the media on Wednesday, if the medical handlers give the go-ahead.
