Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, has said that he had the feeling that Sir Alex Ferguson would step down this season and he shared it with members of his staff.

The Gunners boss was speaking at a press conference, ahead of the crucial clash against Wigan Athletic on Tuesday.

“I told my staff a long time ago that I thought it would be his last year. I detected some signs,” he said.

Ferguson took charge of his last home game yesterday – a 2-1 win over Swansea and will be replaced by David Moyes after the season.
