A 15-year-old boy, Uchenna Akoma, was Tuesday arraigned before a Federal High Court, Lagos state, for allegedly peddling Indian hemp.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, arraigned Akoma in a private court hearing before Justice Babs Kuewumi.
Akoma was apprehended by the NDLEA for dealing in marijuana without lawful authority after he was caught with 100 grammes of cannabis sativa, 200g of marijuana on June and 400g of marijuana.
The minor confessed to taking two wraps of marijuana on a daily basis.
Before his ruling, Justice Kuewumi told everyone present, except the prosecuting counsel for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and other lawyers, to vacate the courtroom.
Akoma pleaded guilty to the one count charge and was remanded in prison custody.
The judge adjourned the case till September for further hearing, ordering the prosecutor to review the facts of the case after which the accused may be sentenced to prison.
