‎I remain Ondo APC spokesman – Omo’ba Adesanya

Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ondo State chapter, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya has declared that he remains the Spokesman of the Party despite sponsored rumour of his suspension for hailing President Muhammadu Buhari for nominating a Ministerial nominee from Ondo State.

In a statement he personally signed, Omo’ ba said, “My attention has been drawn to the malicious rumours being peddled in some quarters that, I Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya has been suspended from office as the Publicity Secretary of APC in Ondo State. This is unfounded, malicious, demeaning and embarrassing not only to me and my family, but also to our great Party, the APC.

“I remain loyal and a strong believer in the provisions of our Party’s constitution. The Constitution doesn’t give room for impunity and lawlessness. The Constitution of our Party is clear that the State Working and Executive Committees has no powers to suspend any officer of the Party.

“It is on record that I have never been queried for failing to perform my constitutional duties as the State Publicity Secretary. I am not an appointee, a stooge or an appendage of any member of the State Working Committee. I campaigned across the state, contested and won election ‎like any other members of the State Executive Committee. I have the mandate of all APC members in Ondo State. For this reason I cannot be intimidated or bamboozled by anyone. “Unequivocally I wish to state that I remain the Spokesman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State”.

“Meanwhile, the source of this rumoured suspension and the amount of funds sunk into the agenda to continually disparage my office and blackmail my personality on radio stations can only suggest an unholy alliance with external forces who are desperate to weaken the media machinery and the ministry of information of Ondo APC so that the reign of impunity and corruption can continue unchallenged in the State.

“Also, the idea of Director of Media and Publicity said to be appointed is an employee of the State Chairman, and not of our great Party. The job of directorate is clearly administrative, if any. He/she cannot and must not speak for the Party. I therefore want to inform the general public, my friends in the media and all members of APC, both at home and in diaspora that, any statement that does not emanates from my office and duly signed by me, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, should be disregarded and discarded, it cannot be the true position of our great Party, APC, in Ondo State.

“Finally, I wish to assure my friends in the media, the general public and members of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State and beyond that, I will continue to discharge my constitutional duties as the Publicity Secretary of APC in Ondo State”, the statement reads.
