I miss my husband, I want to be with him – Rescued Chibok girl, Amina

Rescued Chibok girl, Amina Ali Nkeki says she is not comfortable with being away from her Boko Haram ‘husband.’

Amina pleaded to be reunited with him, saying she misses him and still thinks about him three months after escaping the militants’ camp.

Recall that Amina, one of the over 200 girls abducted from a school in Chibok in April 2014, was found in the Sambisa Forest close to the Nigeria’s border with Cameroon in May.

She was found while breastfeeding her four-month-old baby, with a man, Mohammed Hayatu, alleged to be her husband.

He allegedly escaped and surrendered himself, his ‘wife’, Amina and their baby to members of the Borno state Civilian Joint Task Force in Balle, a village in Damboa.

Upon her rescue, she met with President Muhammadu Buhari and has since been reportedly held for months by the Nigerian government and confined to a house in Abuja for rehabilitation.

Speaking with CNN on Tuesday, the 21-year-old said, “I have no idea where he is now and I am keen to be reunited with him.

“I’m not comfortable with the way I’m being kept from him.”

As though addressing the father of her child directly, Amina said, “I want you to know that I’m still thinking about you, and just because we are separated doesn’t mean I have forgotten about you,”Amina added.
