Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has denied being a “go-slow” governor, urging Deltans to be patient with his administration in this early stage as plans and measures were being put in place to ensure prosperity for all people of the state.
The Governor, who made this known at the weekend after a closed-door meeting with Elders and Leaders of lka Ethnic Nationality in Asaba, noted that the group was an ambassador of the government since that was his (governor’s) primary constituency and as such would partner with government to develop the state.
He reiterated the readiness of his administration to work with Deltans in order to develop the state and improve on the well-being of all, assuring of his commitment to fulfil all promises he made preparatory to the last election.
“Deltans should be patient with this administration; gradually we will reach our destination of prosperity for all Deltans. l need lka nation and other ethnic nationalities in the state to partner with government to achieve its goal; this is my people and they should be ambassadors of this administration; we will all work together to move this state forward,” the Governor stated.
