I have nothing to hide about my administration – FUTA VC, Prof. Daramola

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Prof. Adebiyi Daramola has reacted to the report on his invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged misappropriation of funds and abuse of office.

The FUTA VC stated that he has nothing to hide about his administration and that he is always ready to provide clarification on his stewardship during and after his tenure in the institution.

The FUTA VC stated this in a statement issued through the head of the Information and Protocol Unit, Mr. Adebanjo Adegbenro, asserting that he has nothing to hide.

He disclosed that he was later released on that day after being quizzed by the EFCC.

Recall that Daramola and the University’s Bursar, Emmanuel Ademola Oresegun were summoned by EFCC officials at the commission branch’s office in Iyaganku, Ibadan in Oyo State in respect of an alleged case of abuse of office and misappropriation of funds.

FUTA VC explained that the EFCC invited him to provide clarification over issues relating to his stewardship and that he honoured the invitation as part of his statutory responsibilities since he has nothing to hide.

“As a law abiding citizen, I duly honoured the invitation and I also cooperated with the Commission to provide the needed clarification. I was allowed to return to Akure .

“I have no fear or hindrance in rendering the report of my stewardship whenever I am called upon to do so officially or unofficially since I have nothing to hide,” he added.
