Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has revealed that he has not banned drinking among his players during their time off.
The Blues boss was responding to questions about Wayne Rooney, who was photographed drunk after England played Scotland.
Conte says he allows his players to be responsible for their actions. The Italian who has put in place strict rules on diets, has, however, chosen to clamp down on alcohol.
“After the game, when the players have spare time, it’s important I give them freedom,” Conte told a press conference at Cobham Training Centre on Friday.
“I want my players, when they have spare time, take responsibility.
“Above all because, when I was a footballer, I had this type of experience [had drinks] after games. It’s normal, after matches, above all if you win the game, that you want to celebrate. But it’s important, always, to think about the next game for me.”
