I have no plans to install my son as the next governor – Nyako

Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State has dismissed the news making the rounds that he has the intention of installing his son as the Governor after him, saying that such rumour was wicked.

The Governor said the rumour was put up by mischief makers and anti-democratic elements for their selfish political interest.

Nyako made this known in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Political matters, Comrade Yinka Heritage.

The Governor maintained that the era of god-fatherism in Adamawa state politics was over, insisting that the next Adamawa election would be conducted under a free and fair atmosphere.

He also vowed to adhere to the party constitution in order to allow for the emergence of a credible and popular candidate, just as he stressed that he had no anointed candidate in mind for the race.
