Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has revealed that he has not spoken to Jack Wilshere, since he joined Bournemouth on a one-year loan deal.

The England midfielder left the Emirates to get more playing time  and will be ineligible to play, when the Cherries face the Gunners on Sunday.

Wenger says he watches Wilshere when he can, but has not had a conversation with the player since he departed.

“I ask every week how did he play but I haven’t spoken to him,” Wenger said at a press conference on Friday.

“I am happy that he has had no injuries since he left us.

“I leave him to talk to his manager. When I can watch him, I do watch him.

“I’m happy that Wilshere develops well, in the end it was a good decision. He gets regular football, getting stronger every week.”

Wenger however hinted the 24-year-old will be offered a new contract soon.

“Ideally [it will be addressed before next summer],” he added.

“We have to plan around the new year.”
