The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, on Wednesday said he has no record of how much the commission has recovered from looters.
The anti-corruption czar said this on the floor of the senate during his confirmation screening.
Responding to a question from Senators Duro Faseyi who asked, “How much funds has been recovered since you took charge of the commission?”, Magu replied: “It is difficult to give report on how much has been recovered from fight against corruption,” adding that “It is very difficult for me to say.”
Meanwhile, the Senate again refused to confirm Magu as the Chairman of the anti-graft agency.
Also, during his screening, Magu questioned the integrity of the Department of State Security, DSS.
“What does it mean if same institution can submit two different reports on one person on a single day”, he quipped after Senator Dino Melaye confronted him with a report by the DSS.
