Mario Balotelli has denied stories making the rounds, that he indulges in pre-match sex.
There were reports in the Italian media recently, claiming the Liverpool striker prepares for key games by having sexual intercourse to put him in the mood.
However, the controversial footballer has laughed off such rumours and says it would not work for him.
“Someone told me recently that I had apparently said that if I have sex three or four hours before a game, it is working for me on the pitch,” Balotelli told Sport.
“Trust me, if I am having sex for hours before a game, I am not able to play.
“I don’t think anyone could. It makes me laugh, but this is not me.”
Balotelli has struggled to hit top form since his move to Anfield last summer, scoring just once in the Champions League win over Ludogorets.
