The Governor-elect of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, has explained that his victory at the Saturday supplementary poll in the state was as a result of his absolute connection with the people of the state.

Dickson made the assertion on Sunday while speaking to Channels Television.

He said, “From the beginning, I did not see any problem, except that we found ourselves as a party in opposition in my state.

“The challenge was never from the people. I have contested several elections and have won all. So I didn’t see this as an election.”

The incumbent Governor, while responding to claims by the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, demanding for a re-run of the election because of the total number of cancelled votes, said, “I don’t respond to political propaganda. Elections have been declared. Elections have won and lost.”

Noting that those who disrupted the electoral processes and their sponsors are known, Dickson promised to work closely with the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government in tackling the security challenges in the state.
