I didn’t know my Nigerian wife was a sex worker until her death – UK citizen opens up

A 56-year-old man, Gareth McGraa, from Southport on Merseyside, UK, married to a Nigerian lady, Jessica McGraa (now deceased), has revealed that the latter hid her secret of being a commercial worker from him.

The couple, who have a six-year-old son, split when the child was a year old. After that, Gareth said, they had several reunions and he always hoped they would end up back together permanently, DailyMail reports.

According to reports, Jessica grew up in Aberdeen and later moved to Manchester before settling in London. She described her son as the ‘love of my life’ and her Facebook page was full of photographs of the pair together.

The deceased’s secret life as a £220 per hour prostitute emerged after she was found brutally murdered in a rented flat at Aberdeen, Northeast Scotland, reportedly about 600 miles from the home she shared with her son.

It was learnt that Jessica only returned to Aberdeen, Scotland’s oil capital from London a couple of weeks ago, having lived and worked there in the past.

Gareth was working as a chief mechanic with Atlantic Drilling in Nigeria in 2005 when he met Jessica in a bar in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.

He said he later married her and believed his 37-year-old deceased wife was making money to fund the high life she loved by selling hair extensions.

“Coincidentally I was being transferred to Lagos and she was going there at the same time so we travelled together. We were married in Nigeria very shortly after that. Her family were there and we celebrated in a hotel restaurant in Lagos. I knew she was using me for a passport to a certain extent but I felt more than that.

“I, Jessica and our son enjoyed a family Christmas, spending five days at a spa hotel. We had our barneys like couples do but I spoke to her every other day. She was with me for 10 years.”

It was gathered that they last spoke on Tuesday last week, three days before Jessica was found dead in a flat in Aberdeen’s Union Terrace.

However, one week after, police arrived to break the shattering news to Gareth and revealed the shocking truth about Jessica’s double life.

He insists he had no suspicion that Jessica was selling sex.

Meanwhile, Gareth revealed he also found out Jessica used aliases including Ebony Bianca and Kelly West on escort sites.

“She liked to be the centre of attention but she wasn’t a girl to put it about; she wasn’t at all like that, never.

“When I met her I don’t think she’d had more than a handful of lovers in all her life. She wasn’t cheap and liked her Gucci and Armani handbags. She loved the high life and wanted all her dreams to come true tomorrow.

“But she was also a pious person who believed in God. I knew what I was walking into but I really cared for the girl.

“I knew her as a devout Christian and a doting mother, yet she was living under a charade. That dream of coming back together after we separated, died along with her.

“I honestly believed that she was making her money from hair extension sales. She was a very pious girl; she dragged me to church even and that’s not easy.

“To my mind, and hers, we were going to get back together at some point. Not just me, the two of us. I wanted it, she wanted it so why not? But I only ever got half the story. I thought I knew her and it hurts.”

“I found out a lot after she died. She told friends she worked as a stripper to help pay for bringing up her son but was in fact working as a £200-an-hour sex worker who travelled across the UK to offer her services.

“Jessica documented her life of luxury on her social media pages, showing off trips to the Italian Riviera, Hong Kong and New York along with designer clothes, shoes and handbags. She described herself as ‘classic, stylish, naughty, horny, sexy’.

“She offered the ‘ultimate girlfriend experience’, boasted online of taking regular holidays around the world and promoted her services under the names Ebony Bianca, Kelly West and B Bianca.

“According to the Adult Work website, she charged up to £1,800-a-night and took bookings from men, women and couples and was currently ‘on tour’ around the UK.

“The site has topless photos of her with her face blurred out. She wrote: ‘My face is covered to protect myself as I’m ultra-discreet. I have my regular job and a private life. Do be polite when you call me,” Gareth disclosed.

Following her death, reports claim a murder investigation was launched and a 25-year-old man, Bala Wadzani Chinda, was apprehended and subsequently brought before the Aberdeen Sheriff Court.

As investigations into her murder trailed, Detective Superintendent David McLaren of the Aberdeen police, yesterday, reportedly renewed an appeal for anyone who saw or spoke to Jessica in the days before her death to contact his office.

One Meg Kirk, who claimed to have met Jessica while working in the Lapisgold jewellers in Aberdeen’s Union Square shopping centre, said:

“She was polite, lively and we laughed and we talked.

“She was selling some Brazilian hair extensions and I said I’d like to see them. She said I should call in to see her any time I was passing,” Kirk stated, adding that she knew nothing more than that.

Meanwhile, further investigations continue and Chinda, who was accused of the murder as aforementioned, was reportedly remanded in custody.
