Temptation made me burgled into my namesake’s house to steal phone, suspected burglar confesses in Delta
A 23-years-old suspected burglar simply identified as Frank, Thursday, confessed that temptation made him to burgle into the house of a man also identified as Frank, in an attempt to steal his mobile phone.
The theft incident occurred in Orhunwhorhun Community, Udu Local Government Area of Delta state, DAILY POST reports.
The suspected burglar who spoke in pidgin language told DAILY POST thus, It was temptation that made me to break into his house. I have no phone, and I have begged people to help me get one, but they couldn’t. That’s why I broke into his house. I didn’t even know he was my namesake.”
It was gathered that the suspected burglar, in an attempt to burgle the house of his namesake with a knife at about 4am this morning, was arrested after the occupant, Frank raised the alarm which attracted neighbors who gave him a hot chase.
Residents of the area refused to allow the Orhunwhorhun Vigilante take custody of him, alleging that they might be compromised by the suspected burglar who is notorious in burgling into peoples houses.
As at the time of filing this report, the suspected burglar is cooling off his feet at the Ovwian, Aladja Police Divisional Headquarters in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
The new Divisional Police Officer, CSP Albert Dike Uchechi declined comments on the matter, but a police source who craved anonymity
confirmed the report saying, “We will charge the suspect to court once investigation is concluded.”
