Portland Timbers striker, Fenando Adi, has said he can become the Super Eagles’ new Emmanuel Emenike.
Adi, who hails from Benue State, scored 18 goals as Portland won a first-ever MLS championship last season.
“I can be another Emenike for Nigeria as a target forward as I’m good in the air and I can hold the ball upfront for the other players,” the 25-year-old declared.
“I can bring a different dimension to the team.
“I have spoken to the coach and he himself has asked about me.
“This year, hopefully I will be in the Super Eagles.”
Emenike, who plays his football in UAE for Al Ain, announced his retirement from international football in 2015.
