“I am sorry for you”- Enugu APC chairman tells defecting member

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu State, Dr. Ben Nwoye has expressed pity for one of the party’s chieftains in the State, Mr. Val Nnadozie, who recently defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Nwoye said he felt sorry for Nnadozie, and prayed that what happened to Nuhu Ribadu does not happen to him.

He was apparently referring to recent loss of Adamawa State governorship ticket by Ribadu, who joined PDP after ditching APC.

The APC chairman recalled that Nnadozie left PDP in 2011 when the party allegedly imposed Sullivan Chime as its guber candidate, and the defunct ACN gave him ticket to contest against Chime.

“I feel very sorry for my good friend Val, I know that he is a victim of PDP’s deceptive practice.

“Val as our guber candidate went about criticising Sullivan; later on he said that Sullivan’s administration squandered N60 trillion and engaged in unprecedented corruption.

“When Clara, Chime’s wife was imprisoned, Val condemned it, when Chime destroyed Enugu secretariat, which is a historical monument, Val condemned it; I feel sorry that he has fallen victim of serious political deceit; I hope that what happened to Ribadu will not happen to him”, Nwoye stated.

DailyPost recalls that Nnadozie had disclosed that his decision to join the PDP was influenced by the remarkable achievements of the Party in Enugu State and also at the Federal level.

Nnadozie told the Governor Sullivan Chime and the leaders of PDP in the State that he was returning to the party “with over eighty percent” of the more than three hundred thousand registered members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Enugu State.

He said, “We have come sir, to ask you and PDP to kindly re-admit your ‘lost sheep’ into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family, having gone to the wilderness over these years”.

He described Governor Chime as a God sent leader adding , “we have come to work together with you and PDP to move our dear Enugu state forward and to the next level”.

Receiving the returnees, Governor Chime thanked them for their decision, which he described as a right one, and advised them to go back to their respective wards and register in the PDP in accordance with the party’s guidelines. The Governor, said, “We are happy that you returned and we are also happy about the reasons that influenced your decision to return. I can assure you that nobody will be declined registration. Our umbrella is big enough to accommodate all.

We do things like a family and we allow people to choose their candidates. We do not impose candidates on anybody.”
