The Deji of Akure, Oba Adebiyi Adesida has debunked the rumours making the around that he has passed on, saying that he is very much ‘alive and kicking fine.’

The Deji, who spoke with reporters on Phone from Atlanta in the United States of America yesterday, said he was out of the country to attend to some official functions.

Oba Adebiyi, who is also the Chairman of the State Council of Obas assured that he would be back in the country soon in order to resume his official duties.

There have been rumours in the state, particularly the sunshine city, Akure that the monarch has died since on Monday evening.

This has been due to the presence of some oracle worshippers in major areas in the town, particularly the popular Oja Oba market.

Dailypost gathered from sources that the oracle worshippers were in the those areas to make some sacrifices which they normally do before announcing the death of a king. It was their presence that generated rumours about the Oba’s death.

However, the Akure Monarch has cleared the air on the rumour, saying he is alive.
